About John Schnack Photography
Classic Images, Timeless Tones
As a creative, I don't like to pigeonhole myself into any one particular style. Black & whites or color. Artistic or traditional. Editorial or documentary - I do it all. However, one thing that remains consistent in my work is real colors and natural light that create photographs that will withstand the test of time.
An Unobtrusive Yet Guided Approach
Your wedding is full of big, glorious moments: Your first kiss, your first dance. But in between are lots of little magical moments that often go unseen. As a former photojournalist, capturing these types of photographs is what I do best. Along with knowing when to coach you to help you look and feel amazing, and when to take a step back and let the moment unfold organically. It's the perfect blend of free-flow and structure.
Great Relationships Make Great Photos
A great relationship with your photographer is key to amazing wedding photos, and it begins during our discovery call. Throughout the journey, I'll communicate with you often, so you're never worried about what comes next. It continues with your engagement session, so we're comfortable working with one another. Just before your wedding, we'll meet yet again to go over your timeline, your favorite photo spots, and last-minute details. By the time your wedding day arrives, we'll feel like old friends instead of strangers.
Open Ears, Open Heart, Open Mind
A great wedding photography experience is also built on empathy and active listening. I want to understand your expectations and what's important to you, so I can deliver on them After all, it's your day, not mine. The end result? An elegant collection of images that reflects your desires and tells a complete narrative of your wedding day.
A Man With a Plan
While I'm not your wedding planner, I am a planner by nature. This, combined with my photojournalism background, ensures we'll have an appropriate amount of time to capture all the photos you want - from the portraits that you'll inevitably frame to those magical, organic moments - all while making sure you spend quality time celebrating with family and friends.
Unparalleled Experience
Having lived in San Diego all my life, I've worked at many of Southern California's best wedding venues. Just tell me where you're getting married, and chances are I've photographed it. If I haven't been to your venue before, or you're planning a destination wedding, I'll be sure to scout it ahead of time, so there is no question day-of where the best lighting and location is for photos.
