About Apache Oaks

For fifty years this land was a children's church camp. Kids came out to Patagonia every summer, and two of them met under an oak here. They married years later, and while we were restoring the place they came back and showed us the tree where their story began.

My husband Mike and I restored it with a great deal of respect for what it had been. We kept the original church pews. They are what your guests sit on now.

Apache Oaks is 25 private acres at 5,300 feet in Arizona's Sky Islands, an hour and fifteen minutes from Tucson, with Coronado National Forest on every side. Ancient oaks, open grassland, and dark sky. There are three places to hold a ceremony: under the oaks on those pews, up on Prayer Hill looking out over the land, or in the Art Barn, our 18 x 40 screened pavilion. Dinner happens on the terrace beneath the oaks and the string lights.

Only one group is ever here at a time. Twenty-five stay on the property and up to a hundred join for the day. Come early, stay late. Nobody is rushing you out at eleven the next morning.
