About Metropolitan Club New York
An iconic club since 1894, the Metropolitan Club was designed by Stanford White and was built by David H. King, Jr. , both early Metropolitan Club members. The Great Hall is beautiful in all its grandeur, with the classic iron stairway, flooring and walls with variegated marbles from Italy and Greece, and the Gold Chandelier which is the main focal point of the entrance. Many receptions and ceremonies have taken place in this special room. The Club has two ballrooms of equal size (3,400 square feet) that offer a Parisian style with ceilings painted from the period of Louis XIV. Both ballrooms face Fifth Avenue and boast tremendous park views and natural light unlike any other venue in New York City. The Club also has an additional 13,000 square feet of space in addition to a newly added rooftop bar and outdoor terrace with unparalleled views of Central Park. It is truly a unique space where you feel like you have your own private 5th Avenue mansion for the day. The Metropolitan Club is the perfect location for any occasion!
