About The Prado at Balboa Park
The Prado at Balboa Park is a National Landmark. Originally built in 1915, the House of Hospitality Building was part of the Panama-California Exposition, a 2-year exhibition in Balboa Park celebrating the opening of the Panama Canal. The building’s architecture, artwork and fountains showcase Spanish, Moorish and Mexican design elements, including hand-painted, wooden stencil designs on doors, ceilings and beams.
The award-winning menu crafted by Executive Chef John King features diverse and innovative cuisine with Spanish influences. Showcasing the best of both land and sea, favorites include our Red Wine Braised Beef Short Ribs and the famous Prado Paella. Be sure to enjoy a glass of our signature Sangria out on our terrace overlooking the beautiful Casa del Rey Moro Garden.
