Alison and John married at The St. Regis Deer Valley, a mountain resort in Park City, Utah. The colorful garden party style used a pastel palette of pinks, greens and creams inspired by the surrounding landscape. The outdoor ceremony overlooked the mountains among lush wildflowers, and the reception became an immersive garden of trees and blooms. Family tributes ran throughout, from hand-painted programs to heirloom wedding photographs and handwritten notes to every guest.

A Closer Look

Ali and John's wedding was designed to feel like a summer celebration in the mountains, blending classic elegance with deeply personal details that reflected their story, families and traditions. Inspired by the sunsets, landscapes and natural beauty of its surroundings, the design at The St. Regis Deer Valley embraced a lush garden aesthetic with cloud-like floral installations, serpentine tables, statement trees and layered textures. And nearly every design element carried personal significance. By the end of the night, three generations of their families had found a place in the day.

With Michelle Leo Events, the couple set the ceremony overlooking the mountains, where guests felt as though they were walking through a blooming summer garden. Artisan Bloom lined the aisle with grounded wildflowers of peonies, dahlias and hydrangeas in blush, cream, salmon and soft green. Among them stood lilac irises, and they were especially meaningful, honoring Ali's mother by recreating the purple irises from her own wedding bouquet. Ali walked to John past the flowers her mother had once carried. Her bridesmaids waited in mismatched gowns of pink, lilac, green and blue, each holding a unique bouquet in its own mix of colors, as if gathered from the aisle itself.

The family story continued on paper. Ali's grandmother painted the artwork on the wedding programs, featuring Utah's state flower, the Sego Lily. Rebekah Nicole Ink created a completely custom toile of the St. Regis nestled among the mountains, with bluebirds in honor of John's father, who raises bluebirds in Atlanta, and Japanese cranes celebrating Ali's Japanese heritage. Guests met it first in the invitation suite at home, then found it again on the bars and matchboxes waiting in Deer Valley.

Their fashion choices echoed the same storytelling. Ali wore Danielle Frankel with Jimmy Choo heels chosen to match her mother Liz's gold pair. Her jewelry came from Wilson & Son Jewelers in Scarsdale, New York, where her family has shopped for more than two decades, and Andria Barboné custom sourced the couple's antique wedding rings.

As evening fell, the design grew more vibrant. Custom green drapery framed the band, and towering trees and lush floral installations surrounded serpentine tables dressed in pinks and greens. Ali and John's handwritten notes for each guest doubled as the escort cards, and in the lounges, framed wedding photographs of both sets of parents and grandparents looked on. Ali slipped into a vintage reception dress from Happy Isles and the gold heels herself. Then the couple stepped onto the dance floor, where the crest they had first introduced on their save-the-dates waited at the center, ringed in flowers, the newest mark in a family story three generations long.
