A Closer Look
Monte Cardón is a desert property of brick, stone and cardón cactus above an open valley in San José del Cabo. Kylie and Chris's wedding brought it the coast. Fawn Events built the design from shoreline textures and soft ocean tones, working seafoam blue, warm cream, subtle metallics and shell into the property's own sandy neutrals. Sand belongs to the beach and the desert alike, and it let the two settings meet without a seam. The invitation arrived on torn-edge paper in pale seafoam and asked for formal attire inspired by the palette, so guests came dressed in coastal neutrals.
The ceremony claimed the venue's boldest architecture, a freestanding brick archway with a round stone altar at its foot and the valley beyond. By Allegra climbed both columns with white orchids, hydrangeas, bell-shaped blooms and wild grasses, then banked low mounds of white flowers along the aisle between wooden armchairs. Inside the arch hung handmade chandeliers of gathered ivory fabric. Their soft folds gave all that brick some movement, and down front, pale blue tassels hung from the Reserved cards.
Kylie wore a custom Dana Harel gown of ivory lace, strapless and corseted, with a long train, a cathedral veil and a cascade of white orchids. Chris and his groomsmen wore cream and sand from H.M. Cole Bespoke Clothing and Friar Tux, the desert's colors cut into suits. The bridesmaids brought the water. Each dress was selected individually in a coastal hue, and together the sage satin, seafoam jacquard, champagne and silvery pleats looked like a handful of sea glass. Their bouquets stayed white with soft greenery and baby's breath, so the color lived in the fabric.
Before dinner, guests found their seats at a custom-built seashell bar. A scalloped seafoam awning ran over arched niches of shells and coral, and raw clay urns spilled dried grass onto the brick. A seashell concierge handed each guest a pearled oyster shell, edged in silver, with their name written inside in blue script. It worked as both escort card and keepsake. The cocktail menus were cut into the outline of a shell, and some guests echoed the decor with clutches beaded in shell and pearl. Every guest walked to dinner holding a piece of the beach.
Dinner ran along long tables beneath a wooden pergola at the terrace's edge, with the valley spread out below. More fabric chandeliers hung overhead among trailing white blooms. Each place setting stacked sand linen, ivory gauze and scalloped plates over charcoal chargers, finished with a handmade seafoam paper menu. Capiz shell glowed beside tapers in tall glass hurricanes, and scallop-shaped cards spelled out the table numbers in script. Each texture added depth to the same few colors, and the tables felt rich and calm at once.
For the party, Kylie changed into a short strapless lace dress and fastened a separate lace collar at her neck. Ahead of her father-daughter dance, she surprised her dad with voicemails she had saved from him over the years, and guests heard them play aloud before father and daughter took the floor.
After dark, the seashell bar took on one last role. Kylie and Chris cut their cake there, a white cake pleated in tall ruffles, crowned with oyster shells and ringed at its base with starfish. Monte Cardón had borrowed the coast all day, and the cake gave the couple its final taste.
