About Angela Cappetta

Angela Cappetta is a US based documentary photographer.

Angela is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome Visiting Artists and Scholars, a three-time MacDowell Fellow and NYFA Fellow. Her work is collected internationally by major museums and private collectors. She been profiled widely in esteemed publications such as The New Yorker, Blind, W Magazine and Dazed. Her first monograph, published by L’Artiere Edizione, was shortlisted for the prestigious Arles Prix du Livres.

Angela is a winner of the Photo Vogue Women by Women competition, where her work was among 45 esteemed colleagues chosen from 149K entries, culminating with a major exhibit in Milan.

Her work and book has been acquired by the MoMA Library, the Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Library (England), The American Academy in Rome Library and the NYPL Library. Angela is a proud, woman-owned studio.

Early in her career, Angela apprenticed with some of the greatest geniuses of our time — Mary Ellen Mark, Graciella Iturbide and Arthur Elgort. Through this education, she learned about dedication, hard work and talent. Moreover, she learned that making a career in photography can touch so many. Through her life as a full-time, professional artist, storytelling is Angela’s truest joy.
