Together, we are hushedCOMMOTION, a brand that values the quiet beauty in design, and the bold intricacy of opulent beading and craftsmanship.
Our founder, Thea, went to fashion design school at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and then steadily grew her brand out of her small NYC apartment. Slow and steady, pieces by piece, no investors, just hard work and the support of a wonderful BK artist community!
We now run our design studio out of Thea's hometown, Durham NC. It's wonderful to be able to bring home all that Thea learned, support the community, and thrive in a city that deserves and craves more unique brands to shop with.
We make everything by hand, in small batches in our Durham, NC studio! (we also take appointments there if you are local!)
