About Mae Krell Photo

Hi! My name is Mae!

My pronouns are she/her and depending when in the year you ask me, I either live in Brooklyn, NY or in a converted shuttle bus driving around the country with my girlfriend Liz, our two dogs Apollo & Bia, and Liz's cat Gigi.

I've always been passionate about capturing moments as authentically and magically as possible. As I've settled more into this career path, I'm beyond grateful that I've landed in a place where I'm trusted with the privilege to capture and preserve beautiful and authentic love stories. Weddings and elopements are so distinctly human: a tapestry of your lifetime together so far, each seemingly small piece worth preserving.

I'm a massive film lover- always have been. I was gifted my first camera when I was four. It was a little polaroid l-zone that printed band-aid shaped photos in the tiniest 1 inch by 1 inch frames, and I carried it everywhere with me. Scrapbook photo albums of my childhood are filled with these band-aid pictures: my first day of school, my best friend's bedroom, my little sister on the day she came home from the hospital. As I've grown, my equipment choices have definitely evolved, but my love for film and vintage means of documentation has stayed a constant.

how do we book you?

All you need to secure your date is a signed contract and a 25% retainer! Reach out and we'll chat details & then I'll send you all the information you need in order to book!
how far in advance should we book?

The sooner, the better! Popular wedding dates (Saturdays, May-October) can book 8-10 months in advance, if not more. For couples sessions and weekday elopements, I'd recommend reaching out at least 4-8 weeks in advance, if you're able to! That said, please don't be discouraged if you're working with a shorter timeline, I'd still absolutely love to hear from you!
how will we receive our photos?

I will send your curated edited gallery via a platform called Pic-Time! It's extremely user friendly and allows you to share your downloadable gallery with family, friends and guests seamlessly.
when will we receive our final collection?

My turnaround time for all collections is 4-8 weeks!
do you charge travel fees?

For full day weddings within the lower 48 states, I don't charge any travel fees. This accounts for car rental, flights, lodging, etc! For half day or shorter bookings, as well as other destinations, I have custom travel add ons to help subsidize my travel expenses. We'll discuss all of this on our intro call!
Where are you located? do you travel?

My home base is generally in either Brooklyn, NY or somewhere in the west & YES absolutely! I love to travel, and am always stoked to follow your love to wherever it leads.
