Giovanni di Mola (aka. DJ GIO) grew up in Astoria, Queens and was a New York City clubber for years from CBGB's to Squeeze Box to The Saint to Twilo (Sound Factory). He relocated Upstate to Hudson, NY in 2004 and began playing at town nightspots like The Hudson River Theatre, Jason's Upstairs Bar, The Red Dot, Helsinki Hudson and The Basilica. Gio has been featured in VICE Magazine, Italian Vogue, GENRE Magazine and TimeOut NY Ò and currently serves as Music Advisor to An Upstate of Mind. Outside his home turf in the Northeast,Gio has DJ'ed events in Europe and the Middle East, and has curated music for a number of private & public events. Gio's sets feature a mix of dance music genres from around the world from past to present Ò including New Wave, Indie, Disco/Nu-Disco, Electro, Rock, Motown and beyond. "DJ's were my Gods (and still are!)I followed them everywhere as a dancer & fan and learned lots from them. .
