About Universal Light & Sound Rentals

Universal Light and Sound began at a grassroots level in the shadow of the ‘90s downtown party scene.  While a student at NYU’s Stern Business school, co-founder Mark Johnson worked nightly at well-known venues in New York City.  He found himself drawn to the technology behind the music and lighting at events.  After graduation he became even more active in the event industry.  While juggling a day job as a systems engineer at Goldman Sach’s, he continued to grow what has become Universal Light and Sound.
