About Ballast

Located in the heart of the historic Old Port in Portland, Maine, Ballast is overflowing with old world charm. We are an intimate gathering space offering a blank canvas with a warm, historic touch for you to host your curated private event, dinner or celebration.

We can accommodate groups up to 50 for a seated meal and up to 100 for a standing cocktail event. We have an on site commercial kitchen and complementary dining furniture available for your needs. For more information on the facilities, pricing, and amenities, please see below.

We can accommodate up to 50 for a seated meal and 90 - 100 for cocktails.

Pricing

Outlined below is the price list based on larger group events which includes use of the space, furniture (see below) and use of our commercial kitchen. If you have a smaller, intimate group event or have a question about pricing, I’d be happy to discuss some options with you.

• Peak Season (May through October): Weekday events range from $3,000 to $3,500 and weekend events, Friday & Saturday, are $4,000 and $5,000 respectively.

• Off-Season (November through April): Weekday events range from $2,000 to $2,500 and weekend events, Friday & Saturday, are $3,000 and $4,000 respectively.

• Holidays: All holidays are priced at $6,000 for the day.

Furniture & Commercial Kitchen

We include the use of our furniture in the rental including: six (6) 8’ tables, 50 chairs (with or without beige cushions), four (4) low cocktail tables, four (4) high-top cocktail tables and one (1) 9’ farm table. Linens are not included at this time and we recommend working with One Stop Rentals for all of your linen needs. Use of our commercial kitchen is included in the rental fee. We have two convection ovens, four induction burners, a proofing/warming cabinet, ample work space, ice machine, and walk-in refrigeration.

We provide WiFi access with 150 Mbps download and 32 Mbps upload speeds.
