I've been photographing weddings and families for 10 years now, and I still get excited before each shoot. It's pretty simple really, I'm a photographer because it makes me happy, and because the photos I create make people happy. I know I was meant to do this every time the bride and groom and I share a group hug at the end of the reception and I feel like I gained another new family, even if just for one day. I know it when my heart does somersaults as I walk into a wedding venue or I see a gown that makes me almost faint. I know it every time I get an email from a bride telling me she can't stop crying looking at her photos. I get chills because I know how important these photographs will be to the families in them, for generations to come. When editing images, I often catch myself smiling so hard my face hurts.
