Nile Sprague is the proprietor and primary cinematographer and director at Mendocino Photo & Video, working with a team of camera people, editors, still photographers, and other professionals to ensure clients receive the best and most personalized attention.

Nile grew up traveling with his father, professional photographer Sean Sprague, watching him capture the emotions of people during both important and daily events in their lives. A keen observer, Nile developed his own unique talents in people photography and the ability to chronicle in pictures and video the moods and moments of a lifetime.

Now, with a lifelong career in documentary filmmaking and photojournalism via non-profit organizations around the globe, Nile brings with him an immense amount of experience in working with families across a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. His passion to tell the stories of peoples’ lives naturally led him to sharing with couples the most exceptional day of their lives: a wedding, marriage, or celebration of love. Nile has been capturing the joy and candid nature of these occasions since 2008.

Having grown up on the Mendocino Coast and spending his entire life in the North Bay and wine country communities, Nile also understands the special lighting and locations of the local area and how to capture them to the best advantage of his clients. Capturing imagery is both a lifestyle and a passion that comes naturally for Nile. His wedding-day work focuses on capturing the organic and candid moments between couples and their families and friends. Mendocino Photo & Video works to make a connection and build rapport with each couple prior to the wedding day and guides couples through the process.
