Everything I photograph falls under the large genre of documentary photography. To me it just makes sense that way. When I first picked up a camera, I've had this idea floating in my mind; I would change the world with images. I had no idea how I was going to do it, or what it truly meant, but I was slightly foolish and incredibly ambitious. What I knew: telling a story and using a camera to show off more than just a pretty picture was the most important thing to me. At first, I started to shoot anything and everything. I didn't know the rules of photography or the dynamics of a story. Through a lot of trial and error, I developed an eye. Now it doesn't matter if I'm working on a story about poverty or shooting a wedding. The approach is the same. Things have changed since I started. I don't know how likely it is that I'll change the world with an image, but I know I can change one person's world with an image.
