We never set out to be a hospitality company. We’re a husband and wife team with a background in transportation and retail operations. But when we stayed at the University Club in San Francisco for a wedding a few years ago, we began to wonder what hospitality could look like if event spaces were updated with modern design, a community focus and guest rooms. Back in Philadelphia, a series of happy accidents led us to the historic church that would become The Deacon, and our first project was underway.
