Gorrono Ranch doesn't ask for decoration. The barns are weathered to silver, the decks are worn soft underfoot, and the San Miguel County peaks do most of the talking from every direction. Melanie and Fred's answer was to make the ranch pretty anyway, and to do it with enough conviction that the pink never looked out of place against the timber.

The bow became the argument. It showed up small at first, in white ribbon knotted onto the ceremony chairs, then grew until one hung across an entire barn gable above a pink bar, as if someone had gift-wrapped the building. By the time guests reached the seating wall, a slab of pink hung with antique gold mirrors, the idea had fully landed. This was a mountain wedding that had wandered into a vintage dressing room and decided to stay.

K2 Event Co. and Jubilee Events leaned into that contrast rather than smoothing it over. Tufted green velvet sofas and rattan armchairs sat out on the raw decking like a parlor someone had carried outside. Lusha Event Design kept the flowers loose and low along the flagstone ceremony deck, hydrangea in white, blush and green, so the view stayed the view. Inside, beside the fieldstone fireplace, the tables turned formal, with scalloped gold-rimmed china, sage menus from Wild Sage Calligraphy and Design and each guest's name tied onto their napkin in ribbon.

Then there were the alpacas, which is the detail that tells you the couple never took any of it too seriously. They wandered into Clark Miller Photography's portraits in the meadow, as unbothered as the peaks behind them.

The fashion followed the same arc from classic to something with more nerve. Melanie married in a strapless Leah Da Gloria gown and Jimmy Choo heels, then came back for the dance floor in a short lace dress and a white fur coat, part bride, part après-ski. Under a hanging installation of amaranthus and white blooms, with a saxophonist from The Get Down Co keeping the barn full late into the night, the ranch finally matched her.
