Cameron “Cam” Cody is an internationally recognized concert artist, conductor, and organist. A native of Warner Robins, Georgia, Cam began piano studies at the age of 3. Cameron currently serves as Director of Music and Principal Organist at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Chapelwood UMC features a large and vibrant music program to support its 7000-member congregation. Additionally, Cam has a large online social media following where he frequently performs for thousands of music lovers worldwide keeping the great hymns of the church alive.
Cameron is dually endorsed by Shigeru Kawai Pianos and Allen Organ Company. A rare achievement, Cameron is the only known artist to be dually endorsed by both a major piano and organ company. Cam personally owns a Shigeru Kawai Concert Grand and believes it to be the finest piano in the world.
Academically, Cam studied piano performance and organ at the collegiate level. Cam has accompanied for ACDA, All-State, TMEA, GMEA, and many other distinguished choral programs. Cam is a member of ACDA, TMEA, and the American Guild of Organists and served as a board member on the Houston Choristers Guild.
Cameron is an active touring artist who has been provided the opportunity to perform worldwide, giving dynamic and virtuosic concerts of Gospel, Broadway, and Piano/Organ works. He has performed with gospel greats such as Tiffany Coburn, Mark Lowry, Gordon Mote, and many more. Cam has played the famed Hazel Wright Organ and many of Europe’s great cathedral organs. Cam has performed in Carnegie Hall under the direction of John Rutter and has been honored to perform for Presidents George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter. He is also an active recording artist with many available albums. Many of Cameron’s albums have been produced and arranged by Grammy Award-winning composer David T. Clydesdale. The most recent album record with The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Cameron’s pride and joy is his beloved and renowned Chapelwood United Methodist Church Choir. The choir has an international following of many thousands who tune in each week to hear the choir and worship with Chapelwood. Cam has led the choir on tour to Germany, Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy. The Chapelwood Choir has upcoming tours to California, NYC, and Vietnam. Cam is known for leading the choir in dynamic, fiery, and passionate performances. Finally, Cam is the designer and creator of “Carols and Keyboards,” a concert experience featuring four concert grand pianos, organ, and choir. The Houston-based performances involve over 100 performers on stage and have been attended by thousands of concert goers. Cam has commissioned works and frequently collaborates with well known composers such as Mark Hayes, David Clydesdale, Heather Sorenson, Earlene Rentz, and others. The Chapelwood Choir has been invited by Heather Sorenson to premier her new work “These Ancient Words” in Carnegie Hall with Cameron at the piano.
