Shannon realized she had a "knack" for decor and design at an early age. When she was 10 and her family moved to a new house where she had a gigantic new bedroom all to herself, she proceeded to tear up the carpet to reveal hardwood floors. Next up was wallpapering the walls herself and then painting the ceiling. And of course, all of the colors had to "tie together". The bed was removed from the frame and placed on the floor so the bedding "puddled" nicely. Through the years, she was always the first person friends and family reached out to for design advice or inspiration. Her parents' second home was her "blank slate", taking a simple Cape Cod to a new level. No more cast iron tub and old fixtures, oh no! The bathroom was completely gutted, using her plans. This love of interior design continues to inspire her through the purchase of two homes, which she has almost completely redesigned and renovated. She is still trying to make time to repaint all of the bedrooms and bathrooms in the newest home. . . Oddly enough though, her initial career path did not involve interior design as one would expect. Instead, that "eye" for color resulted in a career as an automotive paint and plastics Quality Engineer, until she left to join her husband Thomas in the wedding business in 2013. And it was here that she found her true passion.
