About Jonathan Scott Studio

At the age of 15, my father gifted me a Konica 35mm camera and built a darkroom in our basement. Even today, I still own that camera. My love for photography stems from the pure joy and wonder I feel every time I capture a moment in time. Over the span of 20 years and close to 1000 events, my images have gained a reputation for the use of light and composition in displaying genuine emotions in real moments.

My career as a professional photographer took some time to take off as I worked as a fundraiser for political and charitable organizations after graduating with a degree in Economics. Subsequently, I spent several years as a financial advisor, where I polished my sales and business skills and learned valuable lessons on how to speak to wealth.

My passion for photography never waned so I spent much of my free time exploring the full potential of my camera.At the beginning of my photography career, I specialized in high-production shoots in my 3000sqft studio in Boca Raton, Florida. I have photographed a broad range of products from jewelry to airplanes and have worked on numerous advertising campaigns and catalogs for companies like Toyota and Isuzu, Peterbilt, and numerous clothing and furniture manufacturers. It was during this time that I honed my current lighting and composition skills.

My love for wedding photography emerged after I started shooting weddings. I found it fulfilling to be able to apply all my mature techniques and photographic disciplines during each wedding. Also, I quickly discovered that I had a natural ability to navigate the wedding day while keeping interactions with the bride, groom, and guests fun and non-intrusive.

For me, capturing the intimacy of a wedding day is more
than just a job; it's a passion.
