About Frederick Loewe Estate

815 W Panorama Rd, Palm Springs, California 92262

The Frederick Loewe Estate is a historic, 3-acre luxury property located in the heart of Palm Springs, available for vacations rentals, special events and weddings. The private, self-contained estate is often referred to as magical; step onto the property you’ll immediately understand why.

Built in 1956, this stunning Palm Springs estate was the desert home of Tony and Oscar-winning Broadway composer Frederick Loewe (My Fair Lady, Camelot). The celebrity home retains the chic, Mid-century modern design emblematic of ‘50s Palm Springs, while having undergone updates for all modern conveniences. With glass walls, over 5,000 square feet of space, four bedrooms (with six beds total) and four-and-a-half bathrooms, the spacious home offers unparalleled panoramic views from nearly every room. As if the mountain views weren’t beautiful enough, the residence is furnished with extensive art, memorabilia and period pieces throughout the house and grounds.

In its November 14, 1960 issue, Time magazine described the Frederick Loewe Estate as an “airy, glass pleasure dome;” that remains true today.

Set on a boulder strewn hillside, the estate offers unparalleled, jaw-dropping, 360-degree views of the San Jacinto Mountains, Coachella Valley below and lavishly landscaped grounds and paths. From the early hours of the morning as the sun rises over the valley until the sun sets and the city lights sparkle alive, this estate offers the best vantage point in Palm Springs bar none. Frederick Loewe so loved the views his unique property provided that the composed fixed his bed on a turntable, allowing him to enjoy the vista from multiple angles throughout the day. This unique feature remains, so you can experience that luxury for yourself.

The sprawling grounds of the estate make it an idyllic wedding venue, event space, or just a place to kick back and relax. Take a trot around the acreage and you’ll find a semi-exclusive tennis court, a grotto style spa, a pool, waterfalls, sculptures and original artwork. Not to mention the gorgeous flora: There are over 100 olive trees, 33 palm trees and numerous citrus trees, flowers and cacti on the 3-acre property.

The Loewe Estate is far from the only culturally significant house in the neighborhood; Design, architecture, history and pop-culture aficionados alike will love vacationing among iconic homes including the Kaufmann House, Edris House, Raymond Loewy House, Elvis House and Bing Crosby House.

The Frederick Loewe Estate is conveniently nestled in the exclusive Little Tuscany neighborhood in Palm Springs. The North Palm Canyon Design District and Downtown Palm Springs are just a five minute drive away, and Palm Springs International Airport is just 10 minutes away. The estate is perfectly located for popular Palms Springs events, including Coachella Music Festival, Palm Springs Modernism Week, Dinah Shore Weekend, the White Party, Stagecoach Music Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Indian Wells BNP Paribas Tennis Tournament.
