About Emiliano Russo
My studio is based in Amalfi Coast, Ravello, and Positano, and my team and I work all over Italy, Tuscany, Florence, Rome, Puglia, Lake Como, and overseas. I started photography in Australia 10 years ago; then, I became a professional after two years when I returned to Italy.
My style is a good balance of 3 elements:
- Search for the perfect light around the perfect frame
- Search for an ethereal atmosphere around the couple
- Framing the "state of mind" of a wedding, the positive sense of its "mood."
- Alternate bright pictures with something more profound, intimate, less overseen, and elegant.
To reach these focus points, I work in a team. From my assistants to second shooters, I always search for talents to ensure I am well supported in my growing process in terms of delivery quality. I believe that people should recognize themselves in their pictures, feeling something back on their skin when they will look back at their wedding, and even after years, they should receive at least a considerable part of what they felt that day.
Undoubtedly, photography is not just a bunch of techniques to practice for. Still, it is more connected with the human touch, so I am conscious that part of my personality affects the final results of weddings in how I interact with people around me.
I unquestionably love being creative, yet I also care about couples. I don't want to be a stand-alone tool far from reality and far from what people are asking me to take, even if I'm conscious that I'm looking for something along the images I continuously take in my career.
My pictures match several elements: my personality, their personalities, the atmosphere around them, and light conditions. The atmosphere, the sense of ethereal, is crucial in my pictures. This is why people rarely look straight into the camera at my weddings.
There is always something that is not unfolding, not completely disclosed. I do not like telling loud a story. I love a bit of "mystery" even in the most known venue of a glorious location. Is my photography timeless? Maybe yes, even if I think there should be a good percentage of the present.
Photography is affected by signs of time and fashion changing. Sometimes fashionable things can bring some good inspirational and creative elements to my style, yet I cannot just follow them and leave my vision away from my class. So why should you choose me? Well, if you are distinctive, you have deep personalities and love music, travel, and the sense of ethereal when you discover places; if you feel like dreaming, well, we have more than something in common and trust me this will affect your pictures more than my technical skills.
