With its stunning water views, inspiring architecture and wonderful ambiance, the Museum is the ideal venue for hosting your wedding and creating an unforgettable and magical day. Located in the wonderfully picturesque historic town of Essex, weddings at the Museum are truly a unique experience for you and your guests. 

River Front Lawn ~ A gorgeous space directly on the Connecticut River is truly unique. There is
something about being so close to the river to watch the rippling waves, boats and birds… just a calming
special feeling we suppose. 

Boathouse Room and North Deck ~ Both spaces are connected and are frequently used for a cocktail
hour and are perfect for any celebration! The North Deck stretches out over the river and it just doesn’t
get any better than that. Occupancy guest limit is 55 in the Boathouse Room and North Deck can
accommodate 125+ guests. For a plated/seated event occupancy limits are smaller. 

Upper Lawn at the Lay House ~ Provides stunning vista views of the Connecticut River. This space is
set back from the river-front activity, so it is a bit more private. A custom stone lighted stairway allows
guests to meander over to the river for photos or simply enjoy a moment of reflection. 

The Museum is open year-round and we welcome weddings, rehearsal dinners, birthdays,
anniversary celebrations, memorial gatherings and corporate events.
