About Powerhouse
Powerhouse first opened in 1917, operating as a power plant for the DC Paper Manufacturing Company, and was recently converted into an event space. The iconic Powerhouse features 30’ high ceilings, dramatic floor-to-ceiling bay windows, a mezzanine space, and a smokestack which rises through the building to a height of 150 feet, towering over the Georgetown skyline. All of these features combine to create a unique, one-of-a-kind venue. In addition, the venue has a state of the art audio system with inputs throughout, and is wired for easy lighting installations.
The building is located between the Georgetown Waterfront Park and the famous M Street shopping corridor. Powerhouse is walking distance from world class hotels, including the Four Seasons and the Ritz-Carlton. With a modern, industrial interior, Powerhouse offers a venue with character that is able to be customized to fit the taste of each couple.
