About Kindred Ceremonies

I have been a creative writer all my life, and channeled my energy into a variety of art forms before settling into Celebrancy and setting up Kindred Ceremonies, an Independent Celebrant service. 
I originally come from a theatre and film background, and I still act, write scripts, and produce my own work. I have always been creative, and love learning about people; I love your stories and quirks, I enjoy hearing about your passions, emotions and relationships, and I take pride in collecting all of your truths, to ensure I capture every essence of you when I’m writing your ceremony.
As a Virgo, I am a perfectionist. I recognize life's uncertainties, and I am thankful for each day, remaining present in the now and embracing all emotions. I value love, life, and family. Spiritually, I understand the mighty Universe and its power. Religiously, I feel and sense faith. What makes me different? Well, I always bring fresh ideas to the table, and I have a young, vibrant energy to bounce off, so together we can create your unique ceremony. My urban upbringing and varied lifestyle gives me a bit of spice, adding style to your ceremonies, and I have no boundaries creatively so anything goes.Whether it be a wedding, funeral or naming day, celebrations like this are a crucial journey we must take, marking off essential milestones in the adventure we call life. It is vital to get these celebrations not just right, but perfect. My life experiences have given me tools to help me guide others through their day, creating a peaceful, smooth sailing ceremony for all.​Beautiful people need and deserve beautiful ceremonies.

Weddings:

Standing by your side through your journey, Kindred Ceremonies will help you create your perfect ceremony. Anything goes. Whatever reading, ritual or practice you want to have, however sleek, stylish, bold or bright you want it, however complex or simple you choose, we can create it together. From the flicker of an idea right through to the moment you say I do, Kindred Ceremonies will be with you. I want to get to know you both, and discover exactly what makes you unique so your ceremony will reflect you both as people individually, and together as a couple.

Your Journey

 Initially, we will start with a phone call to explain a bit more about Kindred Ceremonies, my experiences and answer any questions you have. Choosing the right Celebrant is extremely important, and this way we can sense each others vibes, and you will know if I am the right Celebrant for you.​ You will then be sent a list of questions to answer, to help me get to know you. Take your time answering these, there is no rush. We will then arrange to meet up, so I can get to know you both in person, and we can explore the questions further and discuss how you want the ceremony to be. Whilst completely open to any ideas you have, I can also offer guidance and ideas too if you want them. The next step is for me to devise and write your ceremony, and I'll send you the script. We can edit and redraft the script via email and phone conversations, until you decide it is perfect. I'll be there at the rehearsal the day before if needed, and then of course on your wedding day to officiate your marriage.

Rituals

With experience in a variety of rituals, most popular being Handfasting (a Celtic ritual binding hands together with a ribbon or cord), Candle Lighting (in the memory of loved ones not able to attend), and Ring Warming (a ritual where each guest blesses the rings before they are exchanged), you can have your ceremony however you please. I have a vast knowledge of many rituals, and can include religious as well as non-religious rituals in the service too, and can help you to compose vows if needed.

Scripts

The script is a written document containing every part of your ceremony, from the moment you arrive until you leave as a married couple. My scripts are divided into titled sections, so you know exactly how the ceremony will run and what we will be doing in each part and why. I will send you a copy of the script via email, and we can re-draft if needed until it's perfect.

Unique to you

What is most important throughout this process is making sure your day is exactly how you want it to be. Each couple is unique, and I want to capture these unique qualities and implement them into your ceremony. Whatever idea you have, and however you want to express your love for each other, we can make it happen.
