Woodhill Park Estate
About Woodhill Park Estate
Woodhill Park is a Grade Il listed Georgian estate nestled in stunning Shropshire countryside.
Lawns roll into 156 acres of parkland, while Walled Gardens, a woodland amphitheatre and a restored glasshouse add a touch of enchantment.
In the Jasmine Room and Courtyard guests can banquet under rustic beams and glittering chandeliers and a stay at the newly renovated Camellia Cottage is included the night before and the night of the wedding. The adjoining wildflower meadows can accommodate a marquee.
Woodhill Park Estate’s heritage is a rich tapestry of politics, art and fashion providing a stunning backdrop for ceremonies and gatherings.
A notable chapter in Woodhill Park’s history was under former owner, David Ormsby-Gore, Lord Harlech. As a friend of President Kennedy and British Ambassador during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Lord Harlech often hosted JFK, Jacqueline and Bobby Kennedy within these grounds.
After he proposed to Jackie Kennedy, Lord Harlech married American socialite and Vogue editor Pamela Colin (guests included Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon).
And Lord Harlech’s son Francis married Amanda Harlech, muse to John Galliano and Chanel under Karl Lagerfeld.
There are many subtle nods to the estate’s history – for example the wine list has been curated by presenter Amelia Singer to reflect the Kennedys’ favourite cocktails and vintages.
The further renovation of six cottages and Groom’s Bar is a collaboration with Neptune by the Georgian House.
Guests can choose to extend their stay and enjoy wellbeing therapies ranging from sound baths and yoga to clay pigeon shooting and wine tastings in the upcoming Groom’s Bar, as well as bespoke couture fashion evenings or author talks. It offers an effortlessly sophisticated escape for couples who want every moment of their celebration to feel intentional and distinct.
