From the first dance to the last song of the night, The Essence Band knows how to read a room and keep guests on the dance floor. As one of The Bahamas' most in-demand wedding acts, we bring a rare mix of musicianship and versatility with jazz, funk, soul, Motown, top 40 pop, 90s/2000s throwbacks, R&B, salsa, rake and scrape, soca, reggae, dancehall, and even country woven in depending on the moment.

Blending genres seamlessly and dropping in surprise samples of songs your guests already love is our signature. The Essence Band creates a sound that's unmistakably our own, and irresistible on the dance floor. What began as informal jam sessions when the members were university students, grew into a residency at The Blue Note Jazz Bar at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, and today they perform twice weekly at The Jon Batiste Jazz Club at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, all while becoming one of the most requested wedding bands locally and internationally.
