About Events by Darren Keala

Darren Keala discovered his passion for creating spectacular celebrations in 1998 when he moved back home to Hawai’i to be with his family. He began working in hotels and resorts as a food and beverage manager overseeing weddings and events, and in 2006 struck out on his own. In the following years, Darren opened a beautiful flower shop and co-created multiple successful wedding, event and floral design businesses.

Today, as the owner of Events by Darren Keala, Darren continues his great love of creating beauty and meaningful memories for his couples and their families. He believes in building relationships with trust and transparency, not just with you, the clients, but with your vendors and service providers as well. Seamless events require the collaboration of people who are excited to bring their passions and talents together. In his more than 20 years in the luxury wedding and event industry, Darren has planned celebrations of every size and style and his work has been featured in countless publications. He has also traveled to California with the Hawaii Visitors Bureau convention representing Hawaii weddings, and has spoken at the Hawaii State Travel Association and The WedTech conference sharing his experience as a wedding professional.

In his spare time, Darren loves spending time with his dog Braxton, having dinner with friends and family, and celebrating life! Darren is based in Maui but brings events to life anywhere.
