Specializing in hand-penned envelope calligraphy in both classic and modern styles, Laura Hooper is based in Washington DC and Los Angeles and serves clients nationwide and internationally. After graduating from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Business and an emphasis on Management, Laura opened her own artistic ventures, Laura Hooper Calligraphy and Lucky Orchid Designs. For the past 10+ years, Laura has worked with countless couples to create the most elegant calligraphy for their invitations and wedding stationery. She also designs custom hand drawn maps, unique print materials such as programs, menus, escort cards, signage and other chic items for the most discerning of clients. Laura has worked with several high profile celebrities and companies for their personal and corporate events, and has been published in numerous magazines, including The Knot, Inside Weddings, Martha Stewart Weddings and Town & Country Weddings, among others. When she is not lettering for her clients, Laura enjoys, traveling and going to the beach in her spare time. She currently resides in Washington, DC with her husband, Jeremy.
