At Sowle Film Studio, we believe strongly in a natural style of filmmaking, making the most of the hand we’re dealt by leaning into the environment and stripping away any extraneous aspects.

Day of, this looks like using natural light; shooting through and around things like tree branches, buildings, and wine glasses; encouraging instinctual movement among couples and not forcing anything; being ready for spontaneous moments like big laughs or sneaky kisses; and extracting the story from the day instead of projecting one on to it. Our films are built on candid moments, because the point of a film like this is to immerse you back into that special juncture in your life. We will hardly ever ask you to look at the camera. This is not picture day. This is a movie about your life.
