Olga and Joe married at Castell de Tamarit, a clifftop castle in Tarragona on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. The wedding used a crimson, ivory and black palette with a dark, romantic, baroque style. The outdoor ceremony featured ivory draped fabric, red anthuriums and amaranthus overlooking the sea. The outdoor dinner included fruit-filled tablescapes with grapes, pomegranates and cherries, silver candelabras and black beads.
A Closer Look
Olga and Joe wanted their guests to spend the day in their world, immersed in their stories, adventures and traditions. Music sits at the center of that world, from the gigs they chase to the performances they love, and Olga has always been aesthetically bold, with strong opinions on visual design. Together they imagined an intoxicating baroque feast celebrating love and rebirth: a dark romance at Castell de Tamarit, their clifftop castle above the Mediterranean, draped in crimson and ivory.
Florist Daniel Lafuente set that palette against the sea for the ceremony. Ivory fabric pooled over pedestals to form the backdrop, topped with red anthuriums, hanging amaranthus and deep red blooms. White roses, planted stem by stem in the lawn, lined an aisle of cross-back chairs. Olga's strapless Halfpenny London dress, finished with a sculpted bow at the back, and Joe's black Saint Laurent tuxedo set the rock-and-roll fairytale tone. Bridesmaids in red carried white roses, each bouquet broken by a single anthurium. The couple entered to their favorite music layered over the sound of the waves, and Vida Celebrant led a ribbon handfasting.
Cocktail hour ran along the pool above the water, with paella, bread spilling from burlap and a seafood station dressed in shells and rope. At dinner under pines and string lights, fruit took over the tables. Grapes and pomegranates filled tiered stands and strawberries sat in silver coupes. Strands of black beads trailed between white hydrangeas and red anthuriums, and silver candelabras were hung with red and ivory amaranthus. Menus sealed in red wax were the final touch.
By candlelight, the two decorated a Ca La Sica Italian wedding cake piled with berries and sipped from a champagne tower rising out of dark red blooms. Then the music took over, and Joe dipped Olga low across a dance floor cut with beams of light.
