Karen Wise, acclaimed Brooklyn + Berkshires based wedding photographer, has been recognized as one of the best in her field by American Photo magazine (“World’s Top 10”). Karen’s work has appeared in New York Magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings, VOGUE India, Town & Country and more. Karen has been perfecting the art of luxury wedding photography for over 15 years, combining technical expertise in digital and film photography. She artfully and skillfully shoots medium format film and 35mm, Karen captures the unique spirit of each wedding she shoots, rendering it with stylistic elegance and emotional richness.

After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography, Brooklyn wedding photographer Karen Wise apprenticed with some of New York’s finest commercial still life, fashion, and portrait photographers. Having acquired this practical and creative background, Karen launched her own business. She has since photographed celebrity weddings, including Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer’s wedding in San Francisco and Yo-Yo Ma’s daughter’s wedding in Massachusetts, Joy Cho’s wedding, five-day long Indian extravaganzas, tropical destination nuptials, and many distinctive New York weddings.

In addition to weddings, Karen photographs food, families and portraiture. She also teaches food photography & styling workshops collaborating with chefs and food stylists in the New York area. She loves organic, locally grown food, weekly yoga classes, hiking and skiing in the Berkshires, and traveling (she’s originally from Montreal and speaks French too). Karen divides her times between Park Slope, Brooklyn and the Berkshires with her husband, and 6-year old son.
