About Slow Picture Studio
Our duo project was born one morning over breakfast in one of our favorite bars in Trastevere. We met at photography school, where we realized that photography would become a central part of our lives and our friendship. From the very beginning, we promised ourselves to always work with discretion, with immense respect for what we observe — and to never stop having fun, making endless playlists for our trips.
Our style grew from long hours spent looking at Luigi Ghirri’s photographs — his vast spaces and soft colors still shape the way we see the world. We learned from Rinko Kawauchi the art of observing atmospheres and emotions under a microscope, and we’ve also drawn inspiration from what’s more pop and spontaneous. We’ve endlessly browsed through our family albums, fascinated by the immense power of memories — and it’s exactly that, the poetry of memory, that defines our photography the most.
Our dream client? Just before scrolling through these pages, they’ve probably bought a ticket for a music festival. There’s a colorful design object and an old book next to their computer, and several plants brighten their living room. They’re kind, they love to travel, and when they think about their wedding day, their heart explodes with emotion.
