About Susan Stripling

Susan Stripling is a New York City luxury wedding photographer, photographing weddings throughout New York, the East Coast, and destinations worldwide. Her work is editorial and documentary in equal measure. She is more interested in what actually happens on a wedding day than in what a wedding is supposed to look like, and her couples tend to be the ones who feel the same way.

Twenty-five years into her career, Susan has photographed weddings in nearly every major venue in New York City, from landmark hotels and private clubs to museums, estates, and waterfront venues throughout the Northeast and beyond. She works with couples who want their wedding day photographed as it actually unfolds, giving the same care to a candid moment as to a portrait and bringing the technical experience to make dark reception halls and difficult light look effortless.

Susan is a Canon Explorer of Light and a WPPI Icon Grand Master. Her work has been published in leading wedding and photography publications, and she is regularly commissioned to photograph luxury weddings and multi-day wedding celebrations across the United States and internationally.

Susan photographs a limited number of weddings each year and books well in advance. She lives just outside New York City with her family and, when she isn’t photographing weddings, is probably underwater somewhere, camera in hand, trying to become a better scuba diver than she was the year before.
