The “latest and greatest” is called the greatest for a reason (or several!), and that applies to the wedding world too. And we’re noticing that couples are curious about hosting their celebrations at brand new wedding venues—spots where no one else they know has gotten married yet. It’s easy to understand why: If you’re after a unique experience and really want to wow your guests, hosting your soirée at a shiny new spot is a great way to achieve that goal.

But how do you know where to begin, or which spaces to consider? A good start is to follow the latest wedding news and trends in order to help you find the perfect place to say “I do.” That said, it’s not exactly easy to follow wedding venue news as it is to follow, say, the weather. (We do, however, love the idea of having a push notification for new hotel openings.)

In an effort to bring you the most recent wedding industry news ASAP, we’ve rounded up information about the hottest new wedding venues and other pertinent updates about goings-on in the wedding world. New Wedding Venue: Omni PGA Frisco Resort

Frisco, Texas

If you and your partner are big golfers, what better place to say “I do” than Omni’s latest resort, which is located steps away from the PGA of America headquarters? There are two 18-hole championship courses, a 10-hole short course, and a two-acre putting course and entertainment area, meaning there are plenty of places to play a few holes before or after your big day. And of course, there is no shortage of event venues, either. Couples can opt for the resort’s event pavilion or one of the two large ballrooms in the space, all of which have adjoining event lawns and picturesque golf course views. “Our dynamic mix of indoor spaces and sprawling grounds will allow us to bring to life any experience a couple could possibly dream of,” said Omni’s director of catering, Gregory Wirth, in a statement.

For nearly a year, W Punta de Mita has been undergoing renovations to its property. And as of March 15, four new suites will open up to guests, with four more teed up for mid-April. What’s more, Rubra, a new restaurant on the property backed by celebrity chef Daniela Soto-Innes, is set to debut this summer, adding more value to the already-amazing property. The hotel accommodates a slew of indoor and outdoor venues that can host soirées of up to 400 guests. Enjoy stunning vistas of the Pacific Ocean as you say “I do” at the property’s Venazu Beach, Beachfront Area, and Chevycheria lounge, or opt for an indoor celebration in one of three indoor spaces. That’s right: The W Sound Suite, located just off the hotel’s Living Room (aka lobby), comes with professional equipment and private space for musicians, podcasters, and more to record. There’s also plenty of event space to exchange vows (4,679 square feet to be exact), from a rooftop patio to exclusive room blocks.
